About Imbokodo Industrial Safety
Built by people who understand what happens when PPE lets a team down
Imbokodo Industrial Safety supplies certified personal protective equipment and workwear to businesses across South Africa's mining, construction, manufacturing and logistics sectors. Our name comes from the isiZulu word for "rock" — a fitting foundation for a company built on reliability, straight dealing, and gear that actually holds up on site. We started with a simple observation: too many sites were making do with PPE that was either the wrong fit, out of stock when it mattered most, or barely compliant. We set out to fix that by building direct relationships with manufacturers, keeping proper stock levels, and giving every customer a real answer when they ask whether a product meets the relevant SANS or SABS standard.
What we stand for
Safety equipment only works if it's the right equipment, worn correctly, and replaced before it fails. That belief shapes everything we do — from how we vet suppliers to how we talk to customers. We won't sell you gear you don't need, and we'll tell you plainly when something doesn't suit your site's risk profile. Compliance isn't a checkbox for us; it's the reason a worker goes home safely at the end of a shift.
We work with safety officers, procurement teams and site managers who need more than a catalogue — they need a supplier who understands hazard categories, fitting, and the realities of keeping a large crew properly equipped. That's the role we've built our business around.
How we work with you
Every relationship starts with understanding your site: the industry, the headcount, the specific hazards your teams face day to day. From there we put together a kit list and a supply plan, whether that's a one-off order for a new site or a scheduled top-up arrangement for an ongoing operation. We hold stock on the essentials so lead times stay short, and we're upfront about pricing — no hidden minimums, no surprise substitutions.
